Facilitates discussion and initiatives to grow opportunities for women in AMIA supporting the organizational vision that AMIA prospers through diverse members who are supported and empowered to reach their career goals.
The Women in AMIA supports a network of subcommittees working on specific initiatives identified as high-priority by the Board in the strategic plan.

Identifies, encourages and enables women in applying for and obtaining leadership positions, awards and professional recognition within and outside of AMIA.
Career Advancement — Co-Chair: Holly Urban, Co-Chair: Ece Uzun
Facilitates activities to educate women on career advancement in both academic and non-academic settings.
Networking, Mentoring and Lifecycle — Co-Chair: Michelle Crozier, PhD, MPH Co-Chair: Nicole Guevara MD, MSHI, CPHIMS, ACHIP
Creates new networking and mentoring opportunities for women in AMIA.
Pathways — Co-Chair: Sripriya Rajamani, MBBS, MPH,
Works with other volunteer groups in AMIA to increase the number of women in AMIA and retain them in the early stages of their career development.
What this forum is for:
- Comments/questions/discussions on topics related to women/diversity in the workforce
- Announcing award/nominations
- Articles/links of interest for women (and diversity more generally) in STEM/academia/workforce/etc.
- Bringing attention to jobs that have been posted to AMIA jobs page
- Moderator-enabled anonymous postings, for sensitive topics of advice seeking
What this forum is NOT for:
- Scientific discussions (more appropriate for other groups)
- Criticism or promulgating of any gender stereotype
