  • Special Call for Reviewers

I am reaching out to ask for assistance recruiting reviewers from AMIA's Working Groups to join our team of subject matter experts for AMIA's signature conference.  The Scientific Program Committee (SPC) continues to seek additional reviewers for our upcoming AMIA 2024 Annual Symposium, scheduled to take place in San Francisco, California from November 9-13, 2024.  Although we are fortunate to have recruited 700 reviewers so far, we need an additional 200 reviewers to effectively load balance the number of submissions assigned to each volunteer.

The review period is set to run from April 24 to May 7. We kindly ask that you share this email inviting our fellow members to sign up to serve as a peer-reviewer.  Names will be accepted until April 18 at 11:59 PM Eastern.  Click here to register as a reviewer.

As an exciting new opportunity for this year's Symposium, reviewers who provide excellent reviews will be in consideration for a recognition, which will bring along special rewards, such as a discount on registration.

Peer-review plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality and scientific integrity of our presentations--thank you for supporting the work of the AMIA 2024 SPC by asking our fellow members to review submissions for the upcoming Annual Symposium.

    Best regards,

    Hojjat Salmasian, MD,MPH, PhD, FAMIA

AMIA 2024 Annual Symposium Scientific Program Committee Chair

  • AMIA 25x5 TrendBurden survey is live

The AMIA 25x5 Task Force is conducting an online survey to capture perceptions of excessive documentation burden from health professionals across all healthcare disciplines. This is the only national survey dedicated to assessing the perceived documentation burden among ALL healthcare workers, including MDs, RNs, PAs, NPs, PTs, OTs, PharmDs and other licensed and non-licensed staff, documenting patient care within the electronic health record.

By taking this brief survey, your input will help us find solutions that will alleviate the burden associated with excess documentation.
